Current Flood Alert: Flood alert 3

Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: Groundwater levels are high but slowly falling. At the borehole in Clanville, the level has fallen by 23cm in the last week. Cellar flooding is expected to be ongoing in Appleshaw, Hatherden and possibly Penton Grafton. Sewerage system impacts are expected be occurring in Appleshaw and Penton Mewsey. In Penton Grafton, the main road is flooded. Only very small amounts of rain are forecast from Wednesday 01/04/2026 to Sunday 05/04/2026. Groundwater levels will continue to slowly fall this week. If the weather forecast next week is favourable, this Flood Alert may be removed. We are closely monitoring the situation. Residents are advised to ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. This message will be updated by 18:00 08/04/2026.
