Description of Incident
Engineering work is taking place between Reading West and Pewsey, closing all lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.
Monday to Thursday:
The 19:04 Paignton to London Paddington will call additionally at Hungerford and Kintbury and will call at Newbury and beyond later than normal.
The 21:37 Bedwyn to Newbury will not run.
The 22:08 Newbury to Reading will depart much earlier than normal (at 21:35), and will not call at Reading West. Road transport will operate at 22:08 from Newbury to Reading, calling at all stations.
The following trains will NOT run and will be replaced by road transport (some buses will depart at different times to trains they replace):
- The 21:57 Newbury to Bedwyn
- The 22:47 Newbury to Bedwyn
- The 22:10 Reading to Newbury
- The 22:25 Bedwyn to Newbury
- The 22:47 Newbury to Reading
- The 23:17 Bedwyn to Reading
Additionally:
The 22:30 London Paddington to Bedwyn will not run. Customers for stations to Bedwyn should travel by the 22:28 (departing 22:30) London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads as far as Reading, for the road transport Reading to Bedwyn.
Buses serve railway stations (forecourt / car park / entrance) except where shown below:
- Reading West: Oxford Road opposite McDonalds
- Aldermaston: Bus stops on Basingstoke Road
- Midgham: Bath Road Angel public house
- Newbury Racecourse: Bus stops near station entrance on Hanbridge Road
Tuesday to Friday:
The 00:17 Reading to Newbury will not run and will be replaced by road transport from Reading to Newbury, calling at all stations to drop off customers only.
The 05:31 Bedwyn to London Paddington will only run between Bedwyn and Reading. You should change at Reading for train services towards London.
The 06:12 Frome to London Paddington will start from Westbury at 06:22. An earlier rail connection at 06:07 is available from Frome to Westbury.
