Current Flood Alert: Flood alert 3
Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: Groundwater levels remain high. At Lopcombe Corner, the level has fallen by 2.03m in the last week. At West Tytherley, the level has remained relatively stable. Over the weekend, more than half a month’s rain (35mm) was recorded at Broughton. In Pitton, residual water may be affecting cellars and roads, and sewerage network impacts may still be occurring. In West Tytherley village, cellar, land and road flooding is expected to be ongoing, and septic tanks will be struggling to operate effectively. Today (29/04/2024) and Tuesday (30/04/2024) are expected to be relatively dry. Further rain is expected to affect Hampshire from Wednesday (01/05/2024) to Friday (03/05/2024) with between 20 and 70mm of rain possible in these three days. If very heavy rainfall affects the area, then groundwater levels could begin to rise again from early next week. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operational. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Tuesday 07/05/2024.
