Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: High groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible , as a lot of rain (56mm) has fallen in the last week. The Idsworth and Chalton Lavants are now flowing. Flooding is expected in Finchdean, including the flooding of Chalton Road. Road flooding will be deep in all villages. Cellar flooding is expected in Dean Lane End and Rowlands Castle. Pumps which may prevent water from entering property will be required. Surface water flooding may occur during heavier rain events. Small amounts of rain are forecast from today (09/02/2026) until Thursday (12/02/2026). Groundwater levels at the borehole in Finchdean are expected to continue rising throughout this week. We are closely monitoring the situation . Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed . This message will be updated by 6:00PM on 16 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
