Current Flood Alert: Flood alert 3
Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: High groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible as a lot of rain (66mm) has fallen in the last week. Widespread cellar flooding is now expected to be ongoing in Hambledon. Fareham Road is currently closed. Groundwater is infiltrating into sewers and causing issues with overflowing manholes. Further rain is expected from Friday (13/02/2026) to Monday (16/02/2026), with between 15 and 45mm of rain possible through these 4 days. The rate at which groundwater levels are rising has slowed. However, if heavy rain affects the area, it is possible that water levels may rise above the point at which road flooding has previously begun. The flood alleviation scheme is expected to minimise this impact. We are closely monitoring the situation and liaising with Hambledon Flood Action Group. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed . This message will be updated by 6:00PM on 19 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
