Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: A flood alert has been issued due to a period of high tides. Tides will be at their highest around 21:30 this evening 09/10/25 and at 09:45 on Friday morning 10/10/25. Flooding of roads and low-lying land adjacent to the Wye Estuary from Redbrook to Chepstow is expected at the time of high tides, however conditions may apply a few hours either side of the high tides. Predicted peaks this evening Thursday 09/10/25: Newport 6.9m to 7.3m around 21:30 and Avonmouth 7.3m to 7.6m around 21:45. Predicted peaks tomorrow morning Friday 09/10/25: Newport 6.6m to 6.9m around 09:45 and Avonmouth 7.0m to 7.2m around 10:00. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 11:00 on 10/10/25, or as the situation changes.
