Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: The River Ouse is high near Barcombe, but falling following heavy rain on Sunday (15/02/2026). Only isolated showers are forecast on Monday and Tuesday. River levels should continue to fall. Levels should return near to normal by Tuesday (17/02/2026). However, widespread rain is forecast on Wednesday morning (18/02/2026). This could potentially be more rain than recorded on Sunday. If as much rain falls as is currently predicted, from Wednesday evening (18/02/2026), flood impacts could again affect fields, rural roads, and possibly isolated properties near Bridge Cottage on the B2028, and on Sloop Lane. From Thursday morning (19/02/2026), flooding could affect Fletching Mill Bridge, Sharpsbridge, Barcombe Mills Road, the Anchor Inn and possibly isolated properties in Barcombe Mills. We are operating structures at Pimms Lock and Barcombe to reduce flood risk. Avoid roads that flood, including Barcombe Mills Road. This message will be updated by 8:00PM on 17/02/2026.
