Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: The River Adur is high but falling. Flood water will continue to be in fields. Only isolated showers are forecast on Monday and Tuesday. River levels should continue to fall. Levels should return near to normal by Tuesday (17/02/2026). However, widespread rain is forecast on Wednesday morning (18/02/2026). This could potentially be more rain than recorded on Sunday. If as much rain falls as is currently predicted, from 10:00PM on 18/02/2026, flooding could again affect fields, roads including the A281, and isolated properties at Mock Bridge near Shermanbury. River levels should peak, and begin to fall, by 6:00AM on Friday (20/02/2026), and return near to normal by Saturday (21/02/2026). Unsettled weather could continue throughout February, with further periods of flood risk possible. Avoid roads that flood, including the A281 at Mock Bridge. This message will be updated by 8:00PM on 17/02/2026.
