Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: High river levels today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 28 February 2026 . Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around Pinxton, including the Pinxton Wharf access road, Langley Mill, Ilkeston, Stapleford, and the recreation area at Sandiacre. Light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels at Pinxton gauge are falling, but still pose a flood risk. Levels are expected to remain high until 12:00 noon on 28/02/2026. We are closely monitoring the situation . Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . This message will be updated by 5:00PM on 28 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
