Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: Rising river levels this evening may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible on 15 February 2026 .  Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads along the River Smite. Church Gate and Bunnison Lane in Colston Bassett could be impassable, with potentially dangerous depths of flood water. Areas around the River Devon could also be affected at Easthorpe, Bottesford, Belvoir Lane and the Woolsthorpe to Belvoir road in Woolsthorpe, Church Lane and Main Street in Muston. Rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels at Colston Bassett Gauge are rising rapidly due to the nature of the catchment.  We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .  Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .  This message will be updated by 9:00AM on 16 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
