Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: The River Lavant is high following weeks of rain. Minor flood impacts affecting fields, roads and gardens will continue. In East Lavant, water may affect Sheepwash Lane, Pook Lane, the Green, and bridges across the river. Only isolated showers are forecast on Monday (16/02/2026) and Tuesday (17/02/2026). River levels should not rise far, but will not fall far either. Widespread rain is forecast on Wednesday morning (18/02/2026). If as much rain falls as is currently predicted, river levels could rise by 30cm. From Wednesday afternoon, flooding could affect isolated properties in East Lavant and Westhampnett. River levels should peak by 12:00PM on 19/02/2026. River levels will still not fall far though. Unsettled weather could continue throughout February. We are operating structures in Westhampnett for the Flood Alleviation Scheme. Don’t put yourself or others at risk. Avoid roads that flood (Sheepwash Lane). Report blockages to 0800 80 70 60.
