Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: The level in the Westover Drain is falling slowly but levels remain high. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Parrett at Langport, with low lying land and roads most affected. Areas most at risk include Cheapside, Whatley Mews, Parrett Close, Bow Street, Moor Park and Westover Trading Estate. Pumping operations at Westover have begun and will continue whilst river levels allow. Huish Episcopi station will pump once river levels allow. We are using the Parrett Relief Channel as river levels and water levels on the moors allow. Showers, heavy at times, will persist through Monday (16/02/26) before clearing through this evening. Tuesday will be a largely dry day with a return to more unsettled conditions later in the week. We are closely monitoring the situation, checking flood banks and spillways. Act on your flood plan if you have one. This message will be updated by 1PM on 17/02/2026, or as the situation changes
