Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place between Three Bridges and Brighton / Lewes, closing all lines.

Three Bridges station car park will be closed today, 1 February 2026, so that buses can safely enter and exit the station. Please consider this when planning your journey.

Southern:

At the end of Saturday service, the 01:08 (on Sunday morning) London Victoria to Brighton train will terminate at Three Bridges. A replacement bus will run calling at stations to Brighton.

All day on Sunday, no trains will run between Three Bridges and Brighton / Hove / Lewes.

Direct Southern trains will run between London Victoria and Brighton, diverted via Horsham, Littlehampton and Hove, with extended journey times.

A reduced number of trains will run between Brighton and Hove.

Replacement buses will run between:

  • Three Bridges and Preston Park calling at all stations
  • Three Bridges and Lewes calling at Haywards Heath and Cooksbridge
  • Balcombe and Brighton calling at all stations
  • Haywards Heath and Plumpton and between Plumpton and Lewes
  • (And only at the start and end of the day when direct trains via Littlehampton are not running) Three Bridges and Brighton

Journey times will be increased when using replacement buses.

Thameslink:

No Thameslink services will run between Three Bridges and Brighton.

If you are travelling to / from Brighton, your tickets will be accepted on Southern train services between Three Bridges and Brighton via Littlehampton.

If you are travelling to / from stations between Three Bridges and Preston Park, your tickets will be accepted on Southern rail replacement buses.
