Rail Disruption Transport for Wales Status | Buses replace late night trains between Shrewsbury and Chester from Monday 27 to Thursday 30 April

Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place between Shrewsbury and Chester, closing all lines via Wrexham General on Monday to Thursday nights.

As a result:

  • The 21:09 Birmingham International to Manchester Piccadilly service will be diverted to run via Crewe. A replacement bus will run from Shrewsbury to Chester
  • The 22:24 Chester to Cardiff Central service will start from Chester at 22:08, and will be diverted to run via Crewe. A replacement bus will run from Chester earlier than usual at 21:30 to Shrewsbury, connecting with the train
  • The 23:27 Shrewsbury to Chester will not run, and will be replaced by a bus
