Rail Disruption Southern Status | No trains between Herne Hill and Selhurst / Sutton via Wimbledon on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March

Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place between Herne Hill and Sutton via Wimbledon, closing all lines.

Please note that South Western Railway will also be affected by this engineering work.

Southern:

Saturday:

Trains between London Bridge and East Croydon via Peckham Rye (calling at all stations) will be diverted after Tulse Hill, calling additionally at Crystal Palace and Norwood Junction.

Trains which usually run between London Victoria and London Bridge will only run between London Victoria and Crystal Palace, then run to / from Epsom Downs via West Croydon.

No Southern trains will call at stations between London Bridge and Crystal Palace via Sydenham.

Trains that usually run between London Victoria and Epsom Downs, will be diverted after Selhurst to run to / from East Croydon.

Trains that usually run between London Victoria and Reigate will be amended to run between Reigate and Redhill only. You will need to change at Redhill for alternative Southern / Thameslink services to / from London.

Ticket acceptance:

You can use paper tickets at no extra cost on the following Transport for London services:

  • London Underground between London Bridge and Canada Water (Jubilee line)
  • London Overground between Canada Water and Crystal Palace (Windrush line)
  • London Trams between East Croydon and West Croydon
  • London Buses:
    • 157 between Crystal Palace, Anerley, Norwood Junction and West Croydon
    • P13 between Tulse Hill, Streatham and Streatham Common
    • 50 between Streatham Hill, Streatham and Norbury

Thameslink:

Saturday:

No trains will run between Herne Hill and Sutton via Wimbledon.

Trains will operate between St Albans City and Sutton via Mitcham Junction to a reduced timetable.

Paper rail tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on the following services:

  • London Buses between Streatham and Sutton via Wimbledon
  • London Trams between Wimbledon and East Croydon
  • London Underground between Kings Cross St Pancras and Morden
  • London Underground between Blackfriars and Wimbledon

Sunday:

No trains will run between London Blackfriars and Sutton via Mitcham Junction / Wimbledon.

Paper rail tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on the following services:

  • London Underground between Kings Cross St Pancras and Morden
  • London Underground between Blackfriars and Wimbledon
  • London Buses between Blackfriars and Streatham
  • London Buses between Streatham and Sutton
  • London Trams between Wimbledon and East Croydon

Thameslink trains that usually run between St Albans City and Rainham (Kent) will be extended to operate between Luton and Rainham (Kent).

Trains from Bedford running towards London stations will depart earlier than usual from Bedford.

Please note no South Western Railway services can call at Wimbledon
