Rail Disruption Northern Status | Amended late night Northern services from Monday 6 to Wednesday 8 April

Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place on Monday to Wednesday night between Salford Crescent and Ince, and Tuesday, Wednesday night / early Thursday morning between Ince, Wigan Wallgate and Southport, closing all lines.

From Monday to Wednesday, the following late night services are amended:

  • The 21:30 Blackburn to Southport service will be diverted via an alternative route between Manchester Victoria and Wigan Wallgate, and will not call at station via Swinton and Atherton. A replacement bus will be provided from Manchester Victoria to Wigan Wallgate to serve these stations
  • The 22:20 Blackburn to Wigan Wallgate service will terminate at Manchester Victoria. A replacement bus will be provided from Manchester Victoria to Wigan Wallgate to complete your journey
  • The 22:25 Southport to Manchester Victoria service will run between Southport and Wigan Wallgate, and between Bolton and Manchester Victoria. A replacement bus will be provided from Wigan Wallgate to Manchester Victoria, stopping to set down only from Bolton
  • The 22:27 Manchester Oxford Road to Wigan North Western service will terminate at Bolton. A replacement bus will be provided from Bolton to Wigan Wallgate. Customers are advised to make alternative arrangements to get from Wigan Wallgate to Wigan North Western
  • The 22:49 Wigan Wallgate to Rochdale service will start from Manchester Victoria. A replacement bus will be provided from Wigan Wallgate to Manchester Victoria
  • The 23:20 Manchester Victoria to Wigan Wallgate service will depart at earlier at 23:03 and will not call at any intermediate stations. A replacement bus will be provided from Manchester Victoria to Wigan Wallgate calling at all stations normally served by the train
