Description of Incident

The line between Liskeard and Looe remains closed following a period of recent heavy rain which flooded the track.

Heavy rainfall during December combined with high tides and continued rainfall throughout January and February resulted in the water levels at several bridges along the line being above the level which allows trains to run safely. There is also some damage to the bridges which require repairs. Once the water levels drop again repair, work will start.

No trains will operate between Liskeard and Looe. Rail replacement transport will run as stated below.

Currently, trains are not expected to run on this route until at least start of service on Saturday 7 March.

Customer advice:

Replacement minibuses will operate at train departure times from Liskeard and Looe.

The designated stops for the replacement road transport are as follows:

  • Liskeard – opposite the main station building
  • Sandplace – bus stops by the station entrance
  • Looe – at the front of the station

If you are travelling to / from St Keyne Wishing Well Halt or Causeland please call Great Western Railway customer services on 0345 700 0125, or use the station help point for taxis to be arranged.
