M27 J5 to J8 eastbound, 3 lanes closed for no reason – looks like the roadworks were cleared but the gantries left with lane closures.
40 min delay caused by incompetence is it any wonder people ignore lane closures.
        No one to complain to.

      2. Please do maintenance on your website and remove old ‘live’ traffic reports that are not current and are several years out of date.

      3. Last night westbound from Chichester, trying to go west on the M27, were diverted off and around and back down and up the M275, back onto the Eastbound carriageway then around it all again. We did this 3 times before we gave up and headed north on the A2030.
The signs simply said “Diverted traffic”, they were no use at all. Only way of getting to our destination was to set Tom-Tom to “Ferndown avoid motorways”.

        1. The alternative route was supposed to be the A27, however, there was no signage whatsoever and when I tried to go that way, the route was blocked in two places in Cosham with ‘Road Closed Ahead’ signs, suggesting that the A27 was ALSO blocked at the end of the off slip from the M275 heading into Cosham on Southampton Road.
Fortunately as a local person, I was able to find my way back home to Fareham via Portsdown Hill Road, That route is unsuiitable for HGV traffic as there is a low bridge on one route back to the A27 and the other route goes through a residential area with very narrow roads. The only real possibility would have been via Wickham, (B2177 and A32 southbound), but that wasn’t signposted at all.
There are 3 gantries on the A27 between Broadmarsh/A3 junction and the Hilsea exit slip just before the M275 junction but all they told me was the possibility of people in the road and speed restrictions, By the time I realised that the M27 was closed I was, like you, already southbound on the M275.
This site has no indication of how many nights these closures will be in place. I travel this route regularly on a Monday night and I need to know if the same problem will be there next week.

          1. Yo Mrs Fletcher, share your pain.
We are going to Chichester again tonight to listen to the BBC big band but are taking maps and torches with us as well as two TomToms. thanks for reassuring us that we were not blind or stupid! We have yet to decide which way we will come back but it we can find our way oonto the A27 we may well do that. What a shower, eh?
