Latest flood alert advice from the Environment Agency: River levels have peaked and are falling however the risk of flooding still remains throughout this evening and into tomorrow. Areas most at risk are low-lying roads and land around the brooks in Leicester City, including recreational land where water depths could become hazardous. Areas particularly at risk include those around the Braunstone Brook, Lubbesthorpe Brook, Melton Brook, Saffron Brook, Willow Brook, Bushby Brook, Evington Brook, Thurnby Brook and Scraptoft Brook. Heavy rainfall has passed however there is still a risk of further rainfall from isolated thunderstorms this evening 27/08/2026 and tomorrow, 28/08/2026. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & monitor local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 09:00 on 28 August 2026, or as the situation changes.
