Engineering work is taking place between Preston and Lancaster / Oxenholme / Carlisle / Carstairs, closing various lines.
Avanti West Coast:
Replacement buses will run between:
Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April
- Carlisle and Motherwell, calling at Lockerbie (Saturday)
- Carlisle and Glasgow Central (Sunday)
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April
- Preston and Carlisle
- Carlisle and Motherwell, calling at Lockerbie (Saturday)
- Carlisle and Glasgow Central (Sunday)
The following trains service will operate:
- 1 train per hour between London Euston and Preston via Nuneaton
- 1 train per hour between London Euston and Preston via Birmingham New Street
A once every 2 hour service will run between:
- Preston and Carlisle (via Settle and Carlisle line)
Trains will run as normal to / from Manchester Piccadilly.
Monday 13 to Friday 17 April
Replacement buses will run between:
- Carlisle and Motherwell, calling at Lockerbie
The following trains service will operate:
- 1 train per hour between London Euston and Preston via Nuneaton
- 1 train per hour between London Euston and Preston via Birmingham New Street
- A reduced service will operate between Wolverhampton / Preston and Carlisle (via Settle and Carlisle line)
Northern:
Saturday 11 and Monday 13 to Saturday 18 April:
Trains between Barrow-in-Furness and Manchester Airport will operate between Barrow-in-Furness and Lancaster only.
Trains between Windermere and Manchester Piccadilly will operate between Windermere and Oxenholme Lake District / Lancaster only.
Rail replacement buses will operate between Preston and Lancaster.
Sunday 12 April:
Trains between Barrow-in-Furness and Manchester Airport will operate between Barrow-in-Furness and Carnforth only.
Trains between Windermere and Oxenholme Lake District will operate to a reduced timetable.
Rail replacement buses will operate between Preston and Lancaster.
Sunday 19 April:
Trains between Barrow-in-Furness and Manchester Airport will operate between Barrow-in-Furness and Grange-over-Sands only.
Trains between Windermere and Oxenholme Lake District / Manchester Piccadilly will not run.
Rail replacement buses will operate between:
- Preston and Lancaster
- Grange-over-Sands and Lancaster
- Heysham Port / Morecambe and Lancaster
- Windermere and Oxenholme Lake District
ScotRail:
ScotRail services between Carlisle and Glasgow Central will be amended to support cross-border passengers.
Additional rolling stock has been deployed where possible ScotRail train services are altered as follows:
Saturday 11 and 18 April:
- 10:13 Glasgow Central to Carlisle will replace the 10:13 train from Glasgow Central to Kilmarnock and the 12:01 train from Dumfries to Carlisle
- 11:11 Carlisle to Dumfries will depart at 11:15 from Carlisle and will run later throughout
- 13:06 Carlisle to Glasgow Central will replace the 13:06 train from Carlisle to Dumfries and the 14:59 train from Kilmarnock to Glasgow Central
- 14:08 Carlisle to Glasgow Central will depart at 14:14 from Carlisle
- 20:10 Carlisle to Glasgow Central will replace the 19:24 train from Carlisle to Dumfries and the 20:49 train from Dumfries to Glasgow Central
Monday 13 to Friday 17 April:
- 08:54 Carlisle to Dumfries will depart at 09:15 from Carlisle and will run later throughout
- 10:13 Glasgow Central to Carlisle will replace the 10:13 train from Glasgow Central to Kilmarnock and the 12:01 train from Dumfries to Carlisle
- 11:13 Carlisle to Dumfries will depart at 11:15 from Carlisle and will run later throughout
- 13:06 Carlisle to Glasgow Central will replace the 13:06 train from Carlisle to Dumfries and the 14:59 train from Kilmarnock to Glasgow Central
- 14:08 Carlisle to Glasgow Central will depart at 14:14 from Carlisle
- 20:10 Carlisle to Glasgow Central will replace the 19:24 train from Carlisle to Dumfries and the 20:49 train from Dumfries to Glasgow Central
TransPennine Express:
Saturday 11 April
Rail replacement buses will operate between Preston and Lancaster.
Sunday 12 April
Rail replacement buses will operate between Lancaster and Oxenholme Lake District.
Rail replacement buses will operate between Preston and Carlisle.
Saturday 11 to Sunday 19 April
Rail replacement buses will operate between Preston and Lancaster.
There will be no trains between Carlisle and Edinburgh / Glasgow Central. Rail replacement buses will be in operation between Carlisle and Edinburgh and between Carlisle and Glasgow Central (provided by Avanti West Coast). A TransPennine Express train service will operate between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh.
