Rail Disruption Great Western Railway Status | Buses replace late night / early morning trains between Reading and Newbury / Bedwyn from Monday 30 March to Friday 3 April

Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place between Reading West and Bedwyn, closing all lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

As a result:

Monday to Thursday:

  • The 19:04 Paignton to London Paddington will call additionally at Hungerford and Kintbury and will call at Newbury and beyond later than normal
  • The 21:37 Bedwyn to Newbury will not run
  • The 22:08 Newbury to Reading will depart much earlier than normal (at 21:36), and will not call at Reading West. A replacement bus will run at 22:08 from Newbury to Reading, calling at all stations
  • The 22:30 London Paddington to Bedwyn service will not run. You should use the 22:30 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service as far as Reading, and use replacement buses between Reading and Bedwyn

Then from 21:55 until the end of service, buses will replace trains between Reading and Newbury / Bedwyn, and between Newbury and Bedwyn.

Tuesday to Thursday:

  • The 05:31 Bedwyn to London Paddington service will terminate at Reading. Change at Reading for alternative train services towards London

Tuesday to Friday:

  • The 00:17 Reading to Newbury service will be replaced by a bus, which will drop off customers only at all stations to Newbury

Friday:

  • The 05:31 Bedwyn to London Paddington service will not run. You should travel on later train services instead
