Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place at Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street, closing some lines overnight.

From 23:45 Monday to Thursday evenings until 05:10 Tuesday to Friday mornings, the following services will be affected:

Monday to Thursday

  • The 22:37 Merthyr Tydfil to Cardiff Central service will terminate at Radyr
  • The 22:42 Coryton to Penarth service will terminate at Cardiff Central
  • The 22:49 Barry Island to Caerphilly service will terminate at Cardiff Central
  • The 22:52 Aberdare to Cardiff Central service will terminate at Radyr
  • The 23:12 Pontypridd to Cardiff Central service will terminate at Radyr
  • The 23:30 Cardiff Central to Barry Island will be replaced by a bus throughout
  • The 23:36 Penarth to Cardiff Central service will be replaced by a bus throughout
  • The 23:46 Cardiff Central to Pontypridd service will depart earlier at 23:42 before running at its usual times from Cardiff Queen Street onwards
  • The 23:54 Cardiff Bay to Cardiff Central service will terminate at Cardiff Queen Street

Replacement bus services will run between:

  • Radyr and Cardiff Central, calling at Llandaf, Cathays and Cardiff Queen Street
  • Radyr and Cardiff Central, calling at Danescourt, Fairwater, Waun-Gron Park and Ninian Park
  • Cardiff Central and Penarth
  • Ystrad Mynach and Cardiff Central

Tuesday to Friday

  • The 05:15 Cardiff Central to Barry Island service will depart 4 minutes later at 05:21
