Background Information:
Following the first phase of upgrade work carried out at the end of October, Network Rail will be returning at Christmas to carry out the second phase of the work. Over Christmas, they will be strengthening the iron columns that support the viaduct over Lymington River, as well as the bearers that hold the track over the river. Then they will renew the track over the viaduct to improve the reliability for passengers. More information is available on the Network Rail website.
