Description of Incident
Salford Crescent station will be closed on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September as Network Rail continues the upgrade of Salford Crescent with the addition of a new third platform.
Northern:
Trains between:
Manchester Airport and Blackpool North: Trains will be diverted via an alternative route and will not call at stations via Bolton and Chorley.
Manchester Airport and Barrow-in-Furness / Windermere: Trains will run between Preston and Barrow-in-Furness / Windermere.
Leeds and Wigan Wallgate: Trains will run between Leeds and Manchester Victoria.
Manchester stations and Wigan Wallgate / Headbolt Lane / Southport: Through trains will not run.
Trains will run between:
- Bolton and Preston / Blackpool North
- Bolton and Southport
- Wigan Wallgate and Headbolt Lane (Saturday only)
- Manchester Victoria and Rochdale / Blackburn
- Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge
Buses will be provided between:
- Manchester Piccadilly and Bolton
- Manchester Victoria and Bolton
- Manchester Victoria and Wigan Wallgate
TransPennine Express:
Trains will be diverted and will not call at Bolton. You should use other operators services if you are travelling to / from Bolton.
On Sunday:
The 10:47 Lancaster to Manchester Airport will start from Preston at 10:48.
The 20:10 Manchester Airport to Preston will start earlier at 19:55.Northern:
