Description of Incident
Major engineering work is taking place on the Island Line, closing parts of the route until May 2025. Background Information on the project can be found at the foot of this page.
Saturday 7 September to Sunday 6 October:
No trains will run on the Island Line.
Replacement buses will run between Shanklin and Ryde Pier Head.
Monday 7 October until Sunday 4 May:
No trains will run between Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head.
Replacement buses will run between Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head.

Background Information:
Network Rail engineers will be working to repair and preserve the historic Ryde Pier structure. The pier will close to trains on Friday 6 September and is expected to reopen on Sunday 4 May 2025, in time for the summer holiday season.
Also, during the month-long full line closure, there will be track and bridge renewals between Ryde St Johns Road and Ryde Pier Head, renovations to a historic footbridge at Brading, signalling works at Ryde and bridge repairs in Sandown.
