Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place between Trowbridge and Frome, closing some lines and almost all platforms at Westbury station.

At Westbury, only one platform will be available for trains to call at Westbury.

Cardiff Central – Southampton Central / Portsmouth Harbour:

Trains towards Southampton Central will be retimed to run a few minutes later than usual.

The 12:25 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour service will run between Cardiff Central and Bristol Temple Meads, and between Bristol Temple Meads and Southampton Central only.

Bristol Temple Meads / Swindon / Westbury – Frome / Castle Cary / Weymouth:

Most trains will run between Bristol / Swindon and Westbury, and between Frome and Castle Cary / Weymouth.

Replacement buses will run between Westbury and Frome for these services.

A few trains will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Weymouth, but these trains will not call at Westbury.

London Paddington – Exeter St Davids / Paignton / Plymouth / Penzance:

These services will not call at Westbury, but will additionally call at Frome. Replacement buses will run between Frome and Westbury.

You will need to depart Westbury earlier than usual to maintain rail connections at Frome.

Other local services:

The 08:10 Warminster to Swindon will not run and will be part replaced by earlier road transport from Warminster, Dilton Marsh, Westbury, Trowbridge and Melksham to Chippenham. There will be a rail connection between Chippenham and Swindon.

The 09:22 Frome (starting Westbury) to Cardiff Central, will terminate at Bristol Temple Meads. A separate connecting train will operate (at 10:40) from Bristol Temple Meads to Cardiff Central.

The 14:40 and 15:41 Bristol Temple Meads to Salisbury, also the 17:44 Swindon to Salisbury services will terminate at Westbury.

The 16:05, 17:59 and 19:59 Salisbury to Bristol Temple Meads services will start from Westbury.

The 20:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour (terminating Southampton Central) will call additionally (on request) at Dilton Marsh.

The 22:30 Cardiff Central to Warminster will terminate at Westbury. No alternative transport will be provided beyond Westbury, you should use earlier services for Warminster.
