Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place between Par and Newquay, closing all lines.

No trains will run between Par and Newquay.

Replacement buses will run between St Austell and Newquay.

The first and last buses of the day will run between Par and Newquay.

The majority of replacement buses running will call at all stations and take approximately 70 minutes to complete their journey.

There are additional buses running at peak times which take approximately 50 minutes to complete their journey. These will run non-stop between Par / St Austell and Newquay at the following times:

  • 06:00 Par to Newquay
  • 16:30 St Austell to Newquay
  • 07:00 Newquay to St Austell
  • 17:40 Newquay to St Austell

Please ensure you are on the correct bus to your destination.

If you are travelling on or before Friday 21 March, you can plan your journey using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner

If you are travelling on or after Saturday 22 March, these changes are not currently shown in the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner, please check back nearer to the time of travel.

Background Information:

The track upgrades being made are part of the service improvement work which will result in the Mid Cornwall Metro.
