Great Western Railway between Cardiff Central / Bristol Temple Meads / Westbury and Southampton Central, and between Cardiff Central / Bristol Temple Meads / Westbury and Portsmouth Harbour

South Western Railway between London Waterloo / Eastleigh and Portsmouth Harbour, between Southampton Central and Portsmouth & Southsea

Southern between Southampton Central and Brighton / London Victoria

Description of Incident

Track maintenance work is taking place between St Denys / Eastleigh and Fratton, closing all lines.

Great Western Railway:

Saturday:

Trains that run to / from Portsmouth Harbour will be diverted between Romsey and Fareham, and will not call at Southampton Central.

For Southampton Central, change at Eastleigh for South Western Railway connections to / from Southampton Central.

Sunday:

Replacement buses will run between Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour, calling at Fareham, Cosham (until 20:10), Fratton and Portsmouth and Southsea.

At Fratton and Portsmouth & Southsea:

  • Buses from Southampton Central will stop to drop off customers only.
  • Buses to Southampton Central will stop to pick up customers only.

Trains operating between Westbury and Southampton Central will run to an amended and reduced timetable.

South Western Railway:

Saturday:

Buses will replace trains between Southampton Central and Fareham.

Sunday:

Buses will replace trains between:

  • Eastleigh and Portsmouth Harbour.
  • Eastleigh and Southampton Central.
  • Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour.

Southern:

All day on Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace trains between Southampton Central and Havant.

Services running between Southampton Central and Brighton will be diverted to run between Portsmouth Harbour and Brighton, calling additionally at Fratton.
