Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place between Westbury and Bruton, closing all lines.

Replacement buses will run between:

  • Westbury and Castle Cary
  • Westbury and Frome
  • Castle Cary and Taunton
  • Swindon and Pewsey

If you are travelling to / from:

  • Newbury / Hungerford you should travel via Reading on other train services
  • Pewsey you should travel via Swindon using Swindon – Pewsey bus services
  • Westbury you should travel via Swindon / Bath Spa
  • Castle Cary you should travel via Bath Spa and Westbury

Long Distance services:

Trains between London Paddington and Exeter St Davids / Plymouth / Penzance will be reduced to an hourly frequency and will divert between Reading and Taunton (via Bristol Temple Meads where they will call additionally). They will not call at Newbury, Hungerford, Pewsey, Westbury or Castle Cary.

Some trains will call additionally at Swindon: At Swindon, diverted trains from London Paddington will call to pick up customers only. Diverted trains to London Paddington will call to drop off customers only.

Trains between London Paddington and Paignton will not run.

Local services:

Trains between Bristol Temple Meads / Swindon and Weymouth will operate between Bristol Temple Meads / Swindon and Westbury, and between Frome and Weymouth
