Description of Incident
Engineering work is taking place between Reading and Theale, closing some lines overnight from Saturday evening and into Sunday morning.
Saturday:
The 23:10 Reading to Newbury will not run, and will be replaced by 2 buses:
- 1 earlier bus at 22:50 from Reading, running fast to Newbury and arriving at 23:30
- 1 bus at 23:10 from Reading to Newbury, calling at all stations
The 23:44 Newbury to Reading will not run, and will be replaced by road transport at 23:45 from Newbury to Reading, calling at all stations to Theale, then setting down only at Reading West and Reading.
Sunday:
Local services:
The 00:18 Reading to Newbury will not run and will be replaced by road transport at 00:25 from Reading to Newbury, setting down only at all stations.
The 08:06 Reading to Newbury will not run. You should instead use the road transport (below).
The 08:33 and 09:43 Reading to Bedwyn will start from Newbury. Earlier road transport at 07:43 and 08:58 from Reading, calling at all stations to Newbury to connect with the amended train services.
The 08:53 Newbury to Reading will not run and will be replaced by road transport at 08:55 from Newbury to Reading, calling at all stations.
The 09:30 Bedwyn to Reading will terminate at Newbury. For stations beyond Newbury, you should travel by later services.
The 10:40 Bedwyn to Reading will call additionally at Newbury Racecourse, Midgham, Aldermaston and Reading West.
Long distance services:
The following trains will be diverted via Swindon (not calling) and will not call at Newbury or Pewsey:
- The 07:51 London Paddington to Penzance service
- The 08:50 (departing at 08:31) London Paddington to Penzance service
