Great Western Railway between Reading and Newbury / Bedwyn

Description of Incident

Engineering work is taking place between Reading and Theale, closing all lines.

As a result:

Local trains:

  • The 08:06 Reading to Newbury service will be replaced by an earlier bus (starting from Reading at 07:55), calling at all stations except Newbury Racecourse.
  • The 08:34 Reading to Bedwyn service will start from Newbury (connecting with the above bus).

Long distance trains:

  • 07:51 London Paddington to Penzance will divert between Reading and Westbury (via Swindon – not calling). It will not call Newbury and Pewsey.
  • 08:51 London Paddington to Penzance will depart earlier at 08:44 and will call additionally at Newbury and Pewsey.
